The "ArkanHOG™" — well, it's a "state" of mind.

Hey y'all — I'm Elizabeth.

A few years back I got the call from HR. First round of layoffs, thanks for your service, best of luck. I hung up the phone and — what in the world?! — I felt lighter. Twenty-five years in the corporate world and I was dancing around my kitchen. Three kids, two of them in college, no job, no money. And bursting with joy. Make it make sense.

Now what?

Turns out the answer had been sitting in front of me the whole time. I'd been designing my own "MOM" shirts for my kids' sports for years, and every other mom in the stands kept asking me to make one just like it. So I did. Friends first, then their friends, then total strangers wanting to know where the shirt came from.

That became Elizabeth Gunn & Co. And Elizabeth Gunn & Co. created ArkanHOG™.

So what's an ArkanHOG™?

Look close. That's not just a hog — that's Arkansas. The whole state outline, drawn as a hog with an attitude. One shape, two jobs. Once you see it, you can't unsee it, and I'm not sorry about that.

Here's the thing though — ArkanHOG™ isn't about one town or one Saturday in the fall. It's the Ozarks and the Delta. The lake on Saturday and the front porch on Sunday. Gravel roads, big water, small towns, and people who'd give you the shirt off their back and then ask if you want the hat too.

It's all things Arkansas. That's the whole point.

Every ArkanHOG™ design comes out of my shop in Fayetteville. The embroidery, the patches, the details I fuss over way too long — that's me. And when it came time for hats, I went straight to Outdoor Cap — an Arkansas-based hat company. I've worked with them since the day ArkanHOG™ launched. When you can work with good folks in your own state who actually know what they're doing? Easy call — and they're wonderful people.

The ArkanHOG™ hats landed on the shelf at the Stadium Shoppe on Razorback Road, right here in Fayetteville. These folks are wonderful too. I'm "to the moon and back" grateful for these first two businesses I've partnered with, and I can't wait to partner with a whole lot more.
